Make Pot Professional

Omlie-Your cannabis navigator

Welcome to Omlie, your organizations cannabis navigator.

We broaden the conversation about cannabis by bringing new perspectives, credible information, and practical guidance to health, wellness, and cannabis businesses. Instead of product recommendations for individuals, we focus on helping your teams design strategies, experiences, and cultures that reflect your values and support the people you serve.

Our mission to Make Pot Professional comes to life through four pillars: building expertise and industry fluency, adding capacity that lifts your team, leading empathetic change, and elevating culture so your workplace feels safe, connected, and empowered.

The Omlie Story

I am not a traditional “cannabis executive.” I was taught to just say no and that marijuana was an illegal gateway drug. When medical marijuana was legalized in my state, my curiosity shifted from “Is this safe for my dad?” to “How will healthcare and businesses navigate this change?”

After years consulting with healthcare companies, I was struck by how little credible, practical cannabis guidance existed for organizations—not just for individual patients or consumers. It was hard to find clear information, and even harder to find a trusted partner to talk through the “silly, newbie” questions leaders and teams had about strategy, risk, operations, and culture.

Along my journey, I discovered that cannabis can help people like my dad, and that it can also challenge the way we think about pain, anxiety, sleep, equity, and access. I learned about the history of prohibition and its roots in racism, and I saw how those same dynamics show up in today’s healthcare, wellness, and cannabis ecosystems.

I’m still not your traditional stoner. But I am on a mission to cultivate the possibilities of cannabis by helping organizations make it thoughtful, equitable, and professional.

I created Omlie as a bridge between cannabis and the kinds of strategy, capacity, change, and culture work I’ve done for years. Through Omlie and Omlie Consulting, we help health systems, clinics, dispensaries, and wellness brands:

  • Build expertise and industry fluency so leaders can make informed decisions.

  • Add capacity in the form of hands‑on support that lifts teams instead of replacing them.

  • Lead change in ways that feel human, not just transactional.

  • Shape culture so people feel safe, connected, and empowered to do their best work in and around cannabis.

At the core, this is still a safe place to ask the newbie questions—only now, those questions come from executives, clinicians, operators, and team members who all want to do right by the people they serve.

We’re at the beginning of a new chapter in cannabis, navigating this horizon together. Welcome. I’m so glad you and your organization are here.

Who is Omlie?

Omlie is inspired by Phoebe Omlie, a pioneer in American aviation.

Phoebe was the first woman to receive an airplane mechanic’s license, the first licensed female transport pilot, and in 1933 she was the first woman to be appointed to a federal position in the aviation field. She also established 66 flight schools in 46 states, including a school in Tuskegee, Alabama that would later train the famous Tuskegee Airmen; the first African-American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces.

Phoebe knew that we rise by cultivating others and she was referred to by Eleanor Roosevelt as a woman, “whose achievements make it safe to say the world is progressing.”

Inspired by Phoebe Omlie, our mission is to cultivate possibilities and we aspire to help the world move forward, one woman at a time.
